Business park adds new bldg.

THE BUSINESS park in the northern part of the city, developed by Dominic and Sons Realty and Development Corp., has been continuously expanding to cater different businesses.

John Irene P. del Ocampo, property manager of the company, said their latest addition to the two-hectare Lanang Business Park is the “eskina” building that could accommodate specialty restaurants.

The new facility, she said, is expected to serve as the new dining and entertainment hub in the northern part of the city.  “One of the new locators is a restaurant from General Santos City,” she said.

The other existing facility, which is called the alpha building, is fully leased out to different businesses. The building is now the home of different companies like China Shipping, Cosco Shipping, Mercury Shipping and PIL.

In the long-term plan, Dominic and Sons Realty and Development Corp. is planning to set up a hotel and a convention center in the Lanang Business Park. The convention center, once built, is expected to accommodate 7,500 persons.

“This is part of long-term plan, though the establishment of convention center is not yet our primary focus at present,” del Ocampo said.

The property developer is also presently securing to gain accreditation from Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) to make the project as information technology park. Once it gained accreditation, it should have locators into information technology and business process management industry.

The company applied before PEZA in the third quarter last year.

Apart from planning to set up further development, del Ocampo said the front area of Lanang Business Park can also be availed for lot lease. “Through lot lease, business establishments will have the freedom to build their own development,” she said.
