B2B matching between Indon, M’nao investors

The Indonesian Consulate has invited 18 Indonesian companies that will participate in a business-to-business (B2B) matching activity today with the goal of coming up with joint venture agreements.

At the weekly Wednesdays@Habi at Kape – Abreeza yesterday, Consul General Berlian Napitupulu said the Indonesian companies are either local for distributors for their products or joint venture partners.
The Indonesian companies are into manufacturing of food products like coffee, tea, biscuits, wafers and other snacks items.

“This is a very rare and very good opportunity, “said Napitupulu, pointing out that the companies need not travel to Indonesia to discuss possible joint ventures.

Napitupulu said that as of yesterday morning, his office received 40 confirmations from local investors, many of them are from the city while the rest are from the different areas of Mindanao.
The business-to-business matching activity is a prelude to the three-day 2nd Indonesia Food and BeverageExpo 2018 at the Abreeza mall which opens on Friday with 21 Indonesian companies joining.

As a result of the expo last year, the initial deals reached about $120,000, but during the manufacturing expo, the deals hit about $2.4 million, he said.

“This is the kind of outcome that we are looking for… so that there will be a significant impact and there will load of the RoRo (roll on-roll of) vessel (plying the Manado, Davao and General Santos route which was launched last year with Indonesian President Joko Widodo and President Rodrigo R. Duterte present),” he added.

The Indonesian official was referring to the servicing of the route last year that was launched by the two heads of state, but the service has been stopped since October because of last of cargo.
Napitupulu said there is a need for the business sector to enhance their participation so that the service could be revived. “I have been telling (Indonesian businessmen) to come (and explore the possibility of doing business here),” he said.
