… as province schedules Biz-Con next month

THE PROVINCIAL government of Compostela Valley and national government agencies are set to conduct the second Business and Investment Conference (Biz-Con) on March 5 at Capitol, Nabunturan.Lawyer Lucky Siegfred M. Balleque, provincial director of Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Compostela Valley, said yesterday in Kapehan sa Dabaw at SM City Davao Annex that this is aimed to bolster investments and generate jobs for the province.

“We would really want to elicit more investments in Compostela Valley,” Balleque said.

The last Biz-Con was conducted in 2016.

This year, its theme is “Enriching the growing business and investment opportunities in Compostela Valley.”

The conference is spearheaded by the provincial government in partnership with DTI, Department of Agriculture, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of Science and Technology and Department of Labor and Employment.

There will be also a market matching and trade fair exhibit.

In a statement, the DTI said the event is aimed to “increase investments on the featured priority investment areas such as aquaculture, banana, cacao, coffee, tourism and green-mining.”

The Biz-Con is among the activities in Compostela Valley’s 11th Bulawan Festival on March 4 to 8.
