…as another police officer nabbed for running amok

POLICE yesterday filed criminal charges against a police officer who allegedly went amok in Times Beach, Bucana, Barangay 76-A, Talomo District at 6:15 p.m on Sunday.

 The suspect was identified as PO1 Merck Dolan Teh, 29, assigned at the Regional Public Safety Battalion based in Camp Quintin Merecido, in Buhangin.

 Chief Insp. Ronald Lao, the precinct commander of Talomo police said the suspect, currently confined at his station, was charged for alarm and scandal and light threats before the prosecutor’s office.

 Talomo police officers were immediately dispatched to Purok 24-A, Talisay in the said barangay after receiving the report of purok leader Dynah Javier regarding a policeman who created a scene in the area.

 Initial investigation conducted by SPO2 Roman Agor Jr. said Teh, a resident in the purok, was believed to be under the influence of liquor when he was brandishing a firearm while walking in the neighborhood street.

The responding police officers arrested the suspect. They confiscated the suspect’s government-issued firearm, a 9mm Glock 17 service pistol, serial number PNP 34050, with one magazine containing 13 live ammunitions.

Teh was brought to the Southern Philippines Medical Center for a liquor test.
