Arevalo, Pasquil share honors in 1st CanCham Invit’l. golf

RANDY Arevalo and Atty. Larry Pasquil submitted better cards to emerge as co-overall champions at the close of the first Canadian Chamber of Commerce of the Philippine Invitational golf tournament which took place last June 25 at the Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club.

Arevalo wound-up with a 77 to cap the overall gross crown while Pasquil, a many-time Philippine Airlines Interclub campaigner finished with a 71 good enough to bring home the overall net title in the 18-hole Stroke Play competition using the Systems 36 scoring format.

Nelson Villano (71) and Ronnie Magsico (72) also shared the limelight by winning the Men’s Division A crown and runner-up, respectively while Dr. Alfred Abundo (72) and Lorenzo Ang (74) climbed to the winner’s podium with the Men’s Division B title and runner-up, in that order.

Sally Antivo joined the honor roll by capping the Ladies crown wounding up with a 72 and Stella Barnes (73) finished with the runner-up honors.

The winners were given their respective trophies during the awarding rites held on that evening at the SEDA Abreeza Hotel. It was graced by Canadian Ambassador to the Philippines Neil Reeder, Canadian Chamber of Commerce President Julian Payne and tournament director Ed Herrera.

The event which was held in line with the International Canada Day Celebration was co-presented by ANFLOCOR and backed by Manulife.
