APTS, ICT get first win in UMAEA Xmas Cup

TEAMS APTS and ICT chalk up separate wins at the start of the UMAEA Christmas Cup basketball tournament played Wednesday night at the UM Bolton gym.

APTS leaned on Joseph Planas’ split freethrows to seal its first win over Motorpool, 73-72 in the main header. Roy Castanares led APTS with 17 points mostly on assist made by playmaker Boyong Dagatan and Raul Constantino.

ICT on the other hand, nipped Clinic, 47-36 led by LA Te Eng Fo’s 19 baskets to also enter the win column.

 Aries Consuegra had 14 on a losing effort for Clinic.

Games resume tonight with Maintenance playing ICT at 5:30 p.m. while Clinic battles RAC at 7:30 p.m.

Tournament chairman Ernest delos Santos welcomed the participating teams in simple  rites prior to tip off.

The Games under the supervision of the SBP-XI chapter are played at the UM Bolton gym and at the newly-furnished UM Matina gymnasium.
