Amendments to LDIP approved

LAWMAKERS approved on suspended rules last Tuesday the resolution approving and adopting the proposed amendments to the Local Development Investment Program for the year 2017-2019.

The LDIP is a development toll that will facilitate the implementation of the comprehensive use plan 2013 to 2022.

The resolution said the current local development program covering the period of 2017 to 2019 was endorsed by the City Development Council (CDC) on Sept. 9, 2016.

The programs included in the supplemental LDIP also include the proposal embodied in the addendum to Supplemental Annual Investment Plan (AIP) for year 2017, which covers a total amount P8.3 million.

The resolution also said that all proposals, be it funded or not should be incorporated to the Local Development Investment Program, since all proposals are ascertained to be consistent to the vision of the city embodied in the Comprehensive Land Use Plan 2013 to 2022.

Meanwhile, lawmakers also approved on suspended rules the resolution adopting the inclusion of the list of programs, projects, and activities of the city as an addendum to the supplemental Annual Investment Program (AIP) for year 2017. This covers a total amount of P5.2 million.

The City Development Council previously approved a resolution endorsing to the City Council, through the local finance committee, to include the list of various projects and programs to be treated as addendum to the AIP for this year.

The resolution said that the AIP is a prerequisite document in preparation for the annual budget next fiscal year.

The list of the projects and programs include non-infrastructure projects and infrastructure projects for economic services under the City Engineer’s Office. These include road development, buildings, drainage program, water system and electrification for the city.
