9 NPA surrenderees given fund assistance under CLIP

NINE NPA surrenderees received checks worth P58,000 under the comprehensive local integration program (CLIP) of Davao del Sur in Arnaldo’s Hotel in Digos City on Tuesday.

The ceremony was led by Councilor Nonito A. Llanos III, representing Davao del Sur Gov. Claude Bautista; Maj. Gen. Rafael Valencia, commander of 10th Infantry Division; Sr. Supt. Dario L Gunabe, provincial police director; and Department of Interior and Local Government provincial director Abito Bernasor.

Capt. Rhyan Batchar, 10th ID spokesperson, said Rodanny Ansudo, who surrendered to the 73rd Infantry  Battalion, received renumeration for the AK47 assault rifle he brought with him.

Banases Mariano  of Malita, Davao del Sur received P2,000  for the caliber .357 Magnum revolver; Odoy Malbino  of Malita, Davao del Sur received P45,000 for the M16A1 assault rifle; and Bening Mental of Malita, Davao del Sur received P30,000 for the Garand rifle.

Roger Parasa  of Magsaysay, Davao del Sur and Charlie Pasco of Magpet, North Cotabato both received P60,000 each for bringing along their M14 rifles.

Roy Parasa and Cornelio Mampo of Magsaysay, Davao del Sur, and Guillier Ombaoy  of Magpet, North Cotabato received P50,000 each for the M16 rifles they surrendered.

“The returnees with 110 others who surrendered last year till to date, were given a better life by the government away from hardship and starvation,” Col. Ronald Villanueva, 1002nd Infantry Brigade Commander said.

”This program will not be around forever, it is high time for the members of the armed group to return to the folds of the law before it will be terminated soon,” he added.
