71st PAL Interclub: Lanang skids to 7th in Friendship

Bacolod City – Lanang Golf and Country Club slid to seventh place as of Day 3 in the ongoing 71st Philippine Airlines (PAL) Interclub golf tournament at the Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club, here.

Lanang tallied a total of 197 Stableford points coming off with a 64-point total yesterday. Its previous rounds saw 71 points at the Bacolod Golf and Country Club on opening day that had the placed at sixth in the Friendship Class tally then scored a 62 on the second over at the Marapara course.
Mark Villorente had 22 points to lead Lanang yesterday noting a two birdies on holes one and six, respectively. He also added four pars and eight bogeys to his card. Villorente was backed by Danny Gotera and Raymond Salvador who added similar 16s. Jose Carlos Palma Gil’s 10 did not count.
Lanang, the only local bet playing in the Friendship Class faces dim chances for a title shot as they trail leaders – Bay Area Golf Org. (88-95-58-241), South Cotabato Golf and Country Club (87-57-79-223), Pittsburg FilAm Golf (73-68-65-206), San Juanico Golf Club (80-67-59-206), Filipino Golfers Association of Kuwait-1 (59-60-85-204), Van City Golf Club (70-71-61-202) and New Zealand Black Tees(61-61-77-199) in the 22-team roster.
Seeing action on today’s final day for Lanang to be played at the Bacolod Golf and Country Club are Dennis Te, Ruben Erickson, Renato Sanchez and Paul Dakudao.
