58 vehicles seized

A TOTAL of 58 vehicles in the city were impounded during the Oplan Lambat Bitag Sasakyan conducted on Friday, the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) reported yesterday.

 Sr. Supt. Alexander Tagum, DCPO director, said the operations also resulted to the issuance of 303 temporary driver’s permits.

 The DCPO led the operation with the cooperation of Task Force Davao, City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO), Highway Patrol Group (HPG), Land Transportation Office (LTO) and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).

 They conducted dragnet operations targeting suspicious undocumented vehicles, drivers without license and violations of various traffic laws in Tugbok and Calinan areas.

 Confiscated were 54 motorcycles, two payong-payong improvised tricycle, one multicab and one van.

 All impounded vehicles were temporarily deposited at the DCPO parade ground.

 The operation started at 2 p.m. and ended at around 6:30 p.m.
