Alleged drug pusher slain in shootout; another arrested

AN ALLEGED drug pusher was killed and another one arrested in separate buy-bust operations of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) XI in Boulevard, Barangay 31-D and in Hagonoy, Davao del Sur on Tuesday, Dec. 5.

Nephi Noli Dimaandal, spokesperson of PDEA XI, said the first operation was conducted by the PDEA agents at around 3:35 p.m. at Purok 1, Barangay 31-D, Boulevard, resulting to the death of Alfredo Biñas III, 28, and resident of Barangay 22-C.

 Allegedly, the suspect pulled his .38 revolver and shot the police officers who fired back. He was brought to the Southern Philippines Medical Center but was declared dead on arrival.

 Recovered during the anti-drug operation were three sachets of suspected shabu with a street value of about P 5,000; P 1,000 marked money and the .38 revolver with live ammunition.

 At around 5:30 p.m. of the same day, the Davao del Sur Provincial Drug Enforcement Office conducted a buy-bust at around 5:30 p.m. in Barangay Sinayawan, Hagonoy, Davao del Sur.

 Arrested was Fernando Recidor Depacaquibo Jr. , 24, a hog raiser and resident of the said place, for allegedly selling one sachet of suspected shabu worth P500 to an agent. He is now detained in Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency XI detention facility.

 Meanwhile, a case for violation of Sec. 5, Art. II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) are being prepared to be filed against him.
