42 motorcycles seized in Toril

A TOTAL of 42 motorcycles, including 32 close cabs, were seized for various offenses in a surprise operation in Toril district on Wednesday.

Supt. Ernesto Castillo, the head of the police traffic group, said they apprehended close cabs for illegally plying along the national highway.

Most of the apprehensions were along the national highway fronting St. Peter’s College in Toril.

Castillo said the operation that started at 4 p.m. on Wednesday also yielded motorcyclists who don’t have driver’s license or helmet.

He said the impounded vehicles will be turned over to Land Transportation Office (LTO) for proper disposition.

Castillo said the operation will also be implemented in the other areas of the city.

“They are still several hard-headed motorists,” he said.

The joint operation was participated in by the Toril Police Precinct, the City Traffic and Transport Management Office (CTTMO) and the Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB).
