30th GET Open on June 10

THE 30th edition of the Guillermo E. Torres (GET) Open golf tournament tees off this June 10 at the Apo Golf and Country Club.Dubbed as the city’s longest running golf tournament to date, this year’s edition expects some 200 golfers from here and neighboring cities to join the one-day competition which follows the 18-hole Modified Scoring System. It will be open to all male and female golfers who are 21 years-old and older joining the Class A, B C and Ladies divisions.

Hole-in-one prizes at stake will be one million pesos and a brand new Mitsubishi Mirage G4 sedan. It will be at stake on designated par three fairways of the 18-hole all-weather course.

Registration fee is pegged at P2,000 per entry inclusive of a mulligan. Registration and payments are made available at the Apo Golf and Country Club and at the University of Mindanao Broadcasting Network (UMBN) office.

The Royal Mandaya Hotel Grand Ballroom will host the awarding ceremonies which will be that night at 6:30 p.m.

Backing the event are Metropolitan Insurance Company, Mitsubishi Motors/Kar Asia, Malayan Insurance, Motortrade, the Royal Mandaya Hotel and the University of Mindanao.

Proceeds will go to the scholars of the Mount Apo Science Foundation.
