300 Canadians to visit Davao

AROUND 300 delegates from Philippine consulates in Canada are scheduled to arrive in the city in February 2018, following a trip held by their counterparts in the United States last week.

City Tourism Operations Officer Regina Rosa Tecson, in an interview with reporters, said that the Canadian delegation has recently confirmed their visit next year.

This follows a visit by around 200 ambassadors from the U.S. and their guests last week, which culminated in an audience with President Rodrigo Duterte on Friday.

Tecson said that the visitors were all praises for Davao City, adding that they dd not receive the same comforts that they did in other places they visited in the Philippines.

“They kept asking ‘where is the Martial Law,’” Tecson said, claiming that the guests did not feel the Martial Law imposed here since May 23 following the siege of Marawi City by terrorist Maute Group.

Last week’s delegation not only included ambassadors to the United States but also their guests, including their relatives who have never been to the country.
