3 men flagged for drugs at Bunawan checkpoint

Three persons carrying illegal drugs were arrested at the Task Force Davao checkpoint in Bunawan District since Sunday night.

Col. Nolasco Mempin, the commander of Task Force Davao, told TIMES yesterday that Nestor A. Dagohoy, 46, married and resident of Km 23, Purok 2-A, Bunawan District, was queuing at the random checkpoint in Barangay San Isidro, Buhangin District around 9 p.m. on board his black Raider motorcycle.
However, he was reportedly acting suspiciously, prompting the law enforcers to flag him and inspect his vehicle.
CAA II Abdul Asdali recovered one small sachet of dried marijuana leaves with an estimated weight of 0.3 grams worth P100 inside the motorcycle’s utility box.
On Monday around 10 a.m., one squad of Task Group Lawin, led by Pvt. James Jemota, was conducting checkpoint operations at the bus inspection area in Sitio Licanan, Barangay Lasang, Bunawan District resulting in the arrest of Bryan Mante Namoc, 33, a resident of Bonifacio Corner Padre Gomez streets in Davao City.
Seized from his possession were one piece small sachet of shabu weighing 0.2 grams worth P1,000 and shabu paraphernalia. The suspect was on board a Bachelor Express Bus from Tagum heading toward Davao City.
Meanwhile, around 1 a.m. yesterday, Sept. 11, the TG Lawin arrested Mark Juver M. Orias, 27, a resident of Sampaguita Street in Mintal, Davao City, in Sitio Licanan, Barangay Lasang, Bunawan District. Intercepted from his possession was one sachet of shabu weighing 0.2 grams worth P1,000.
The suspect was onboard in a Bachelor Express Bus from Maco, Compostela valley heading toward Davao City. Accordingly, the item was found from his black sling bag.
For now, the three arrested suspects were turned over to the Bunawan Police Precinct to face a charge for violation of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
