3 houses gutted in two days – BFP XI

Two houses were razed by fire Monday morning along Juan Dela Cruz Street in Toril District.

Fire Insp. Joshua Quibin, the Toril Fire Station commander, told TIMES yesterday that origin of the fire started at the house of Norma Villanueva, 70.

Quibin said firefighters immediately responded to the scene while the police cordoned off the area.

One of the houses was totally damaged and another sustained partial damage, along with three motorcycles.

In a separate interview, Fire Senior Officer 2 Ramil Gillado, the chief Investigator of the Bureau of Fire and Protection XI, said the fire started around 8:30 a.m. under control around 8:47 a.m. A fire-out was declared at 9: 05 a.m.

Gillado said there was no reported casualty or injury in the incident.

He said the possible cause of the fire is outdoor burning.

The estimated cause of damage reached P80,000, excluding the three motorcycles.

On Sunday, one house was gutted by fire in SM Village, Bangkal around 10:07 a.m.

The report from the Davao City Police Office showed that the fire started at the house of Carlos Cabucan, 69.

Accordingly, a witness heard two consecutive explosions from the kitchen.

Firefighters of Talomo, Central 911, Matina Crossing and Chinese firefighters responded to the scene. They extinguished the fire 20 minutes later.
