3 arrested in buy-busts

THREE alleged illegal drug pushers were arrested by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) XI in a series of buy-bust operations conducted in Panabo, Davao del Norte and Compostela Valley on Saturday.

Nephi Noli Dimaandal, spokesperson of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) XI, said the first operation was conducted on Saturday, Nov. 4 at around 1:40 p.m. at Purok 5, Barangay Southern Davao, Panabo City, Davao del Norte.

They were able to apprehend  Ganimae Gonzales Alimasag, married, 37, driver, and resident of Purok 5-A, Barangay Southern Davao, Panabo City; and Ricky Blanca Colita, 31, single and resident of Purok 1, Barangay Mamacao, Kapalong.

 The two were arrested for allegedly selling one  sachet of shabu worth P1,000  to an agent who acted as poseur buyer.

 Upon searching, another sachet of shabu, assorted drug paraphernalia and the P1,000 buy-bust marked money  were also recovered from their possession.  The Honda 125 XRM believed to be used in their illegal drug activities was also confiscated.

 Meanwhile, a vendor was also arrested by PDEA agents in their buy-bust operation conducted at Poblacion, Nabunturan, Compostela Valley on Friday around 5:35 p.m.

 He was identified as Yasser Caulay Bangcula, 54, married and a resident of Purok 10, Barangay Poblacion, Compostela Valley.

 Bangcula was arrested for selling one small sachet of shabu worth P 1,000 to a PDEA agent who acted as poseur buyer. Another small sachet of shabu and the P 1,000 buy-bust marked money were also recovered from his possession.

 Dimaandal said they conducted the operation after validating the information from a concerned citizen of Nabunturan through texting the PDEA text hotlines about the illegal transaction of the suspect.

 He said they have further conducted casing and surveillance for more than a month.

 The suspects are  now detained at the PDEA XI detention facility while. The cases for violation of Sec. 5 and Sec. 11, Art. II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) are being prepared to be filed  against them.
