200 players seen in 10th Phoenix Open

SOME 200 players are expected to see action when the 10th Phoenix Open golf tournament tees off in grand rites this March 17 at the Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club.

These players are seen to compete in the team, partner and individual categories in which champions will be receiving a Royal Selanggor Pewter Plate and Phoenix Petroleum fuel cards. Champions will also bring home limited edition Phoenix signature golf bags.

“Aside from these prizes, they will also have a chance to win one million pesos cash, a Harley-Davidson 1200 Roadster, two Tata Manza cars and P100,000 worth for Phoenix Petroleum fuels and lubricants for those who can score a rare hole-in-one on designated par 3 fairways, said tournament organizer Liloh Evangelista.

Registration is still ongoing pegged at P7,500 per player to qualify in the team, partner and individual categories. An Under Amour shirt and cap along with a JBL Trip communication and audio system by Harman Kardon, and a Phoenix golf umbrella will be given to each registered player on the day of the tournament. Outlets are at the Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club, Apo Golf and Country Club, Dencio’s Kamayan at SM City Davao-Ecoland and at the Phoenix Mega Station in Lanang.

More, aside from its Davao leg, this year’s Phoenix Open golf tournament will also be held in Manila this May at the Manila Golf and Country Club and in Cebu City this June over at the Cebu Golf and Country Club.

From its three legs, the Davao leg will be the first World Amateur Golfers Championship (WAGC) qualifier outside of the Metro Manila area.Winners will get an invitation to compete in the WAGC Philippines National Finals held in September. From there, all finalists will compete in a 2-Day Competition to see who will earn the right to bear the National colors and compete for the Philippines in the WAGC World Finals, which will be held in Johor, Malaysia in October.

The Phoenix Open is a fundraising event of Phoenix Petroleuim Philippines Incorporated for the benefit of the Phoenix Philippine Foundation and its projects on education, health and safety, outreach and other future initiatives.

The 10th Phoenix Open golf tournament is powered by Phoenix PULSE Technology, presented by Phoenix Petroleum Philippines Incorporated, Luzviminda Engineering and Pioneer Insurance. It is co-presented by Mechatrends Contractors Corporation and Tata Motors.
