2 women nabbed in P1M drug deal

More than a million pesos worth of illegal drugs were seized from two women in a buy-bust operation conducted inside a pension house along Quirino Avenue around 6 p.m. Sunday.

Chief Insp. Michael Uyanguren, commander of Sta. Ana Police Precinct, identified the suspects as Donesa Bandiola Banzot, 35, and Marilyn Rasonable, 25, both single and residents of Purok 7, Santiago, Barangay Indangan, Buhangin District.

Uyanguren said at about 4 p.m. Sunday, a reliable confidential informant fed them information that a certain Donna was peddling shabu.

Immediately, a team from Sta. Ana Police Precinct, composed of its Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) officers and intelligence operative, immediately conducted an operation.

The meeting place was at Room 204 of Carpel’s Pension House in Quirino Avenue at 6 p.m. on Sunday.

An undercover police officer acting as poseur-buyer was able to purchase a small sachet containing suspected shabu for P2,000.

When frisked, the operative confiscated other illegal drugs: a large sachet of shabu and seven other sachets of shabu, with a total weight of 85 grams with an estimated street value of around P1,020,000.

The suspects’ cellular phone and a pink pouch were also seized.

Davao City Police Office (DCPO) Director Sr. Supt. Alexander Tagum said the suspects were drug couriers.
The suspects are now in the custody of Sta. Ana Police Precinct pending the filing of the case.
