2 Davao ex-cops arrested in Agusan drug operation

TWO FORMER Davao police officers and two others were arrested in a joint operation in Purok 7-A, Barangay Poblacion, Trento, Agusan del Sur around 6:30 a.m. on Friday.

Chief Supt. Noli Romana, Police Regional Office XIII director, said they implemented the search warrant, along with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency XI, on the possible drug den.

They arrested SPO2 Rosil Ellevera, 32, a former member of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group XI, resident of Toril District; and PO3 Gilbert Abapo, who was already dropped from the personnel roll, resident of Barangay New Visayas, Panabo City.

Also arrested was Jaypee Alejandro, 30, of Purok 7-A, Poblacion, Trento; and Michelle Alejandro, who was included in the province’s drug list, 34, live-in partner of Abapo.

The search warrant was implemented at the residence of the suspects at 6:30 p.m.

Reportedly confiscated from the possession of Michelle and Jaypee were one big sachet of shabu worth P129,800 and three pieces of digital weighing scale.

Confiscated from the possession of Abapo were one sachet of shabu worth of P35,400, one Armscor Caliber .40 pistol with Serial No. 1102990, nine assorted identification cards, three pieces magazine with 31 bullets.

Operatives also confiscated from the possession of Ellevera one plastic sachet of shabu worth P47,200, one unit 9mm Taurus with Serial No. TZF37875, 18 pieces of 9mm bullets and one piece magazine.

All the confiscated and recovered sachets of shabu had a total weight of 18 grams with a stree value of P212,400.

“The PNP leadership directed our Anti-illegal Drug Special Operation Task Group in the region down to the municipal level to validate information about policemen directly involved in illegal drugs and other illegal activities to arrest them,” Romana said.

The operation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Trento police led by Sr. Insp. Jerry Fernandez, together with the Regional Special Operations Group led by Supt. Marco Bandojo Archinue; Regional Intelligence Division led by Sr. Insp. Bjorn Tabucon; DEU of Agusan del Sur Police Provincial Office led by Chief Insp. Jared Charles Joaquin; Chief Insp. Ernesto Greogore, assistant chief of the Regional Drug enforcement Unit XI; and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion led by Insp. Jheneil Acuna.

The operation was conducted thru Search Warrant No 18-03 dated Mar. 23, 2018 issued by RTC BR 54 Judge Lou Nueva.

The suspects are now under the custody of the Trento police.

In a separate interview, Supt. Edilberto Leonardo, the chief of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) XI said that the two police officers are no longer connected with the CIDG XI since 2016.

“Abapo went on AWOL because he was reassigned to ARMM. Ellevera, meanwhile, was included in the PRRD (drug) list in 2016 and was assigned to Crame,” Leonardo said.
