2 college students nabbed in drug bust

TWO COLLEGE students were arrested by elements of the San Pedro Police Precinct in a buy-bust operation conducted along Jacinto Extension, Barangay 32-D around 12:30 a.m. yesterday.

Chief Insp. Ramil Macarampat, the commander of San Pedro precinct , identified them as Ralph Barnachea, 21, an information technology student and a resident of Rosalina III, Talomo District, and Sean David Bayla, 21, an HRM student and a resident of Tahimik Avenue in Matina.
According to the report, the suspects sold a big pack of suspected marijuana to an agent for P500.
Recovered from them were three more packs of suspected marijuana wrapped in a yellow paper and another five small packs wrapped in a newspaper. The total haul had an estimated street value of P5,000.
Also recovered were the marked money, one unit Samsung cellphone used in the drug transaction, assorted IDs and suspected drug money amounting to P840.
A case of violation of sections 5 and 11 of R.A. 9165 will be filed against the suspects.
Meanwhile, three men were arrested in another buy-bust conducted by the Talomo Police Precinct’s Drug Enforcement Unit at Km. 7, MacArthur Highway in Bangkal around 9:20 p.m. on Monday night.
Davao City Police Office director Sr. Supt. Alexander Tagum identified them as Edward Llanto, 42, sales agent, resident of Lanang; Rue Sanggalang, 43, resident of Royal Valley in Bangkal; and Darween Clark Acto, 44, a resident of Elenita Heights in Catalunan Grande.
They reportedly sold one big sachet of suspected shabu worth P7,000. Seized from them were another big sachet of shabu, assorted IDs, and P15,000 cash.
The suspects are now detained in Talomo and San Pedro precincts for the filing of appropriate case for violation of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
