12 drug suspects arrested in stings since Oct. 10 – PDEA XI

THE PHILIPPINE Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) XI arrested 12 drug suspects since Oct. 10 as it intensified its operations after it was delegated by President Rodrigo Duterte to lead its drug war.

In an interview yesterday at her office, Investigation Agent V Naravy Duquiatan , acting director of PDEA XI, said they doubled their time in anti-drug operation upon the directive also of Director General Aaron Aquino.

“Even we have limited personnel and logical support but still, the office continues the conduct of the operation,” Duquiatan said, adding that they are closely coordinating with the police and barangays to identify street pushers.

Based on their records, they have conducted 12 operations, arrested 11 and one drug personality killed in Tagum City. He said they also conducted random inspections on two jail facilities in the region.

On Oct. 29, a massage therapist and janitor were arrested by PDEA agents in a buy-bust operation conducted in Digos City.

Alfie G. Flores, 28, massage therapist, resident of Purok Atis, Barangay Kiagot, Digos City, Davao del Sur. He was arrested after he handed over a sachet of shabu to a PDEA agent in exchange of P1,000. Another   sachet of shabu was recovered in his possession.

His Kawasaki motorcycle allegedly used in the illegal transaction was also confiscated.

On the other hand, Kenneth Resula, 31, resident of Jumao- as Street, Barangay Zone 1, was arrested in around 5 p.m. of the same day. He allegedly sold shabu to an agent in a hospital canteen along Mac Arthur highway in Digos.

Another sachet of shabu was also confiscated from his possession, along with the P1,000 marked money. The suspects are now detained in PDEA XI for filing of appropriate case in violation of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
