11 fugitives arrested in simultaneous operations

ELEVEN persons with warrants of arrest were collared by authorities during the simultaneous conduct of “Oplan Kalinaw” in different areas of the city around 6 a.m. yesterday.Davao City Police Office director, Sr. Supt. Alexander Tagum, told TIMES yesterday that the series of operations resulted in the background check and profiling of 1,213 residents, 259 of whom could not present a valid ID.

The operation also resulted in the arrest of the 11 fugitives.

Tagum identified them as Cris Lana Sena for statutory rape; Steward Jay Rondero for homicide; Rodolfo Abellana Adlawan for theft ; Jocelyn Mallari for SSS Law; Arnel Mansad for murder and attempted murder.

Others arrested were identified as Ronel Garcia Morales for qualified theft; Audie Pingul for grave threat; Roberto Baquirel for RA No. 8048 (Coconut Preservation Act of 1995); Joshua Taburnay and Noel Camirino for attempted murder; Jeanelyn Kilayco Salce for SSS Law; Allan Alindajao Olaer for RA 6425.

In addition, 569 residents availed of the free medical check-up and food feeding.

The joint operations ended at around 8:30 a.m. yesterday.

A joint security forces and law enforcement units led by DCPO with Task Force Davao, Philippine Coast Guard XI, Regional Mobile Unit, National Intelligence Coordinating Agency XI, Bureau of Fire and Protection XI, Criminal and Investigation and Detection Group XI, Regional Intelligence Unit, 44th SAC, RCDD Police Regional Office XI Healthy Service and City Health Office.

The Oplan: Kalinaw has four components. Profiling of residents, serving of arrest warrants, community outreach and free medical checkups, community empowerment through crime prevention education.

They conducted the joint operation in the areas of Sta. Ana, (YCF Brgy San Antonio, Davao City); San Pedro (Purok 13, Kasilak Bucana, Brgy., 76-A, Davao City); Talomo (Prk 1-A, Brgy. Magtuod); Sasa (Km.9 Riverside Brgy. Sasa Davao City besides of F.Bangoy Elem. School); Buhangin (Purok Baresa, Bajada, Davao City / Back of SPMC); Bunawan (Purok 16, Brgy. Tibungco, Davao City); Toril (Purok 3 Venus St, Brgy Crossing Bayabas, Toril, Davao City); Tugbok (PS9 – Purok 2 Lanzones St., Brgy. Tugbok); and Calinan (Sisay Tesoro, Brgy. Talomo River, Calinan, Davao City).
